Once again, I am behind. So much has happened. Cody survived Afghanistan and the Army, and he and his family (Sami, Jeremy, Myranda, Dominick and Sami's nephew Ashton) returned to Utah from Washington the end of January 2014. Cody has been able to fulfill a nearly lifelong ambition to become a police officer. He was hired as a corrections officer by the Uintah County Sheriff's Dept. in March, and attended the police academy from the end of March until June 10, with graduation taking place on June 18, 2014.

Steve and Meli added another little boy to the family. Conner Ammon Derricott was born June 18, 2014 (that was a busy day). He weighed in at 8 lbs 9 oz, 20" long. Blond hair! He's so cute! Now they have 3 little boys.

Sarah and Sanghoon Lee got married this spring, and celebrated their marriage at a ceremony and reception in their honor in Sandy UT on May 24. She has been living in Korea since last September, teaching English. She and Hoon have returned to Korea to live for a year or two more, and then plan to come back to the US somewhere. We enjoyed getting to know Hoon for the short time we were able to visit with him. Very nice young man.

Time to catch up!

My gosh, am I ever behind! I haven't written anything for a LONG time. Cody has been home from Afghanistan for over a year, and we have another new grandson born April 23, 2013. Bridger Michael Derricott, first child of my son Michael Derricott and his lovely wife Lisa. He's a cutie! If I can remember how to do it, I will post a picture of him here. 

Also, we got new siding and INSULATION on our house. It has always been so cold during the winter, and now we know why...there was no insulation under the old siding, just some thin fiberglass batting in the walls, plus there were vent holes in the waferboard that the old siding was attached to. We could feel the wind inside our house, especially during the winter. Really couldn't afford this, but we hope the improvement in comfort, as well as lower utility bills, might make it worth it.

Alexander Steven Derricott

Newest member of the family, Alexander Steven Derricott, was born December 2, 2011. This picture was taken on his blessing day, January 1, 2012, with dad Steven, mom Meli, and big brother Bobby.

Cody is now deployed to Afghanistan for a 12 month tour of duty. His wife Sami and their children, Jeremy, Myranda and Dominick, are at Ft. Lewis WA.  Cody, our prayers and thoughts are always with you!  We love you very much.
